Appliance may refer to any device using routine household tasks, and in Industrial engineering concerns, mostly with use of electricity, now a days.

Appliance also may refer to a device with a narrow function:

• Home appliance, household machines, using electricity or some other energy input.

  • Major appliances
• In medicine and dentistry, custom-fitted appliances to an individual for the purpose of correction of a physical or dental problems.
• Computer appliance, a computing device with specific functions.
• Software appliance, software applications, combined with operating systems.
